Fix Up your Kitchen and Bathroom

After remodeling our entire house and cleaning it we put it up on the market, expecting a quick sale due to the low price we were offering. We spent two months and Ten Thousand dollars on the remodeling job so we assumed that people would take that cost into consideration as well.

The fact is, people have their own unique tastes, and even though we used all natural, earth tone colors people still wanted to change the bedrooms and living room to their liking. Studies show that if you plan on try to add value to your home your focus should remain on the Kitchen and Bathroom. Keep the remodel simple but classy.

I would suggest showing the house first without doing a remodel job and offering a discount to the buyer for these areas, if they need improving. You can show the home and offer your suggestions for the job, like Tile Floors here, Granite Counter top, etc. But keep your investment to a minimal because “to each is own”.

You may really like a certain color but that same color could be the future buyers worst choice.

I'm not saying disregard making sure everything is in working order, but before you spend thousands fixing areas “you think need it” show the house.
